JULY RECAP: We had a successful July with About Time: The Exhibition, which consisted of artistic interventions all around Stonetown, Zanzibar. This past Saturday we had the Dar opening of the exhibition in our great hall, along with Chap Chap Henna, a public art activity facilitated by Nafasi Artist Flora Brown and Latifah. Shams Bhanji and Ayda Abdallah, two of the Zanzibar artists, attended the opening and presented their works to the public. The About Time artwork will be up until 20th August so please come check it out! THIS MONTH: (THIS SATURDAY) 6 Aug: Tickets for the East Africa Vibes Concert now on sale! Tickets are 50,000 VIP and 20,000 general admission. Pick yours up today and we'll see you this Saturday at Nafasi Art Space! Special thanks to the Embassy of Switzerland and SDC for their generous support of this event. 9 AUG: Artist hangout with Artist in Residence - Francois Knoetze from South Africa. Drop by to learn more about him and his art. Also on 9 August will be the Kijiweni Cinema screening of Rwandese film “Grey Matter” (Matiere Grise) (2011).  17 AUG: Artist Hangout with Sarah Brown from Canada. Feel free to come by to learn more about Sarah and her work. 26 AUG: Art talk with Nurten Yuksel who is a multidisciplinary artist who uses media such as video performance, sculpture, installation, painting, drawings and experimental work. Drop by to learn more about Nurten and her art.  27 AUG: World Premiere Music Video Launch for Ze Spirits Band, Cocodo, and Sikinde, with Chap Chap Music Video, where you can learn about the art of making a music video, and help make one! This activity will be facilitated by Nafasi members Richard Magumba, Nicholas Calvin, and Minzi Tobias.
