THE OPENING CEREMONY FOR PIPELINE OPERATIONS TRAINING
OPENING SPEECH BY ENG. KAPUULYA A. MUSOMBA,
AG. GENERAL MANAGER GASCO
HELD AT REGENCY PARK HOTEL DAR ES SALAAM, 05Th May 2015.
TPDC management,
CPTDC Management,
CPP Management,
PMC,
Participants of this training,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is my pleasure to speak to you on behalf of the TPDC MD (Dr. James Mataragio) and the Management for the Opening of the Training of TPDC employees who will be directly involved in the Pipeline Operation.
My task this Morning is simple and that is to present to you the opening remarks for the Training and express the Client’s appreciation for the big achievement of pipeline construction activities of which, now we are preparing our employees for operation.
Ladies and Gentlemen
Implementation of the Government Natural Gas Project is in good progress under supervision of PMC and TPDC. CPP as pipeline contractor has shown to us the highly level of expertise in pipeline construction where the construction of about 542 km pipeline has completed on schedule. Regardless of some construction challenges faced, CPP was able to complete both offshore and onshore pipeline installations and now we are preparing for pre-commissioning and commissioning. This is big achievement which CPP should be proud of and we congratulate them for this achievement.
Ladies and Gentlemen; In November and December, 2014 Process Plant employees received one month training in China and in March 2015 the onsite training in Madimba and Songosongo plants has commenced. Now is the time for pipeline employee to receive one month training which is structured into two sections: three weeks theoretical and one week practical training starting from today 5th to 1st June 2015. The intention of including these training program into contractor’s EPC Scope of Work was to ensure we build our employees capacity in operation and maintaining these infrastructure efficiently.
It is TPDC’s expectations that, this training will enable our employees to acquire basic knowledge and skills on pipeline operation and maintenance. All the pipeline technical parts will be covered in this programme in detail, therefore our employees will have capacity to operate these infrastructures with the required competence. We understand more training will also be given during pre-commissioning and commissioning.
Ladies and Gentlemen; It is our hope that CPP has instructors/trainer who are well competent and they will be able to communicate well with our trainees. I argue all trainees to utilize this opportunity to learn as much as possible to gain this new knowledge, skills and competence which is vital for operation and maintenance of gas pipeline.
As we look forward to the pre-commissioning and commissioning of the project, hard work, determination and commitment is necessary for successful handover and operation of the infrastructure.
Ladies and Gentlemen; with this few remarks, I am now honored to declare the training of pipeline operation in Tanzania Dar es salaam is officially open.
Thank you very much and once again I wish you all the best for the training.
Asanteni Sana!
